This letter is regarding Hotel/Motel/Lodging permit(s} starting July 1, 2025. The requirement is based on the West Virginia Legislation 64CSR18, please see the enclosed letter with link to the rule. The annual permit fee per unit is $150.00. The fee is non-refundable.
The Nicholas County Health Department’s goal is to work with each owner in setting the inspection(s). For instance, if your busiest time of the year is summer, we can schedule spring or fall inspections. You do not need to be present for inspections, your housekeeper and/or maintenance can let us in.
Enclosed you will find an application for a permit to operate. The application and fee should be received by Nicholas County Health Department no later than June 1st each year. Any facility operating on or after July 1, 2025, without a permit is subject to closure.
